2019 Global Intern Program

Attention 4th year and Master students!

Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) was established in 1993 by the Korean government as a research-oriented institute to foster scientific and technological achievements. GIST has grown over the past two decades to include an ever diverse group of talented students and prominent professors from around the world with the goal of becoming a top-tier global university by 2035. As an innovative research institute, GIST ranked 3 rd in the world in Citations per Faculty in the QS World University Ranking in 2018.

On the behalf of GIST, we are pleased to invite promising students to the GIST Global Intern Program 2019 which will be generously host students who are interested in science and engineering field from June 21, 2019 to August 16, 2019 (eight weeks) as an Intern. The Global Intern Program offers students from countries around the world an opportunity to experience research at GIST by having you join a research lab for eight-weeks during the summer to receive valuable training and mentoring from the lab professor.

Since 2008, over 310 international students have gained both theoretical knowledge and practical training in research through the GIP program. In this regard, we would like to kindly request you to introduce this program in your university.

2019 Global Intern Program Application Deadline: January 16 ~ March 8 2019 GIP June 21 ~ August 16

Benefits: Half of Round-trip Airfare, Dormitory accommodation, Monthly stipend, Medical insurance, Korean language course/Korean cultural activities
